"The English Physician", Nicholas Culpepper, 1725 Enlarged Edition

This book has been in my family a good few years, I reckon.
I inherited it from my Mother four years ago, and she inherited it from her father, who died in 1957. He had started training as a doctor but gave it up for some, as yet unexplained, reason, to become a journalist on the "Financial Times" and a renowned, amateur church organist in London.
It's in poor condition, I have to say, with loose bookcovers and a lot of 'foxing' on the pages. It has also been well used, with evidence of copying out the various remedies.
There is an inscription on the inside of the back cover, written in a 19C. hand:
"Jane Goodman, Knight(sic) End, March(Cambridgeshire).
These days it is called "Knights End" and appears to be just as remote a place in the Fens as it was then!
On page 376 is another inscription:
"William Wilson, not his book, May 5 1745". Now, why would he want to write that, I wonder.
It's certainly been around a bit!
