One of the reasons that the price guides of antiques has such a wide range is because it is really up to the buyer to set the price of them. The true price guide of antiques is not always tied to beauty but to desirability. Some antique-market sources have said the value of antiques had never declined, no matter how bad the economy was. It is a great feeling when you discover scarce antique items and can be pleasantly surprised at the antiques price guide and subsequent valuation. There are various reasons why an antique owner may want to get an antique priced, such as insurance purposes, sale or resale. Look out for rare and one of a kind antiques. When you are clued up on your field it is surprising what value you may uncover.
