I love the Antiques Roadshow, it is my favorite TV program. Exploring the human story behind every antique object is what makes Antiques Roadshow so interesting. No buying or selling takes place, it is the fascinating tales and air of anticipation that makes Antiques Roadshow unique, with hopeful owners and viewers alike delighting in the knowledge acquired and in the possibility that their antique piece is about to be revealed as a priceless treasure. That Antiques Roadshow has survived into the multichannel, internet-challenged television era is testament to its most basic appeal, there is always some extraordinary antique item just around the corner. People are watching because Antiques Roadshow is about other people, and more importantly, stuff and antiques belonging to other people.
